Net Zero – Our Commitment
The Alarming Company Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 for emissions scopes 1, 2 and 3. The commitment was made on 22nd October 2026 by the Board of Directors.
As an employee-owned business based in Fareham, we recognise the part we play in tackling climate change. We are reducing the environmental impact of how we install, maintain and monitor security systems, and supporting our customers, in meeting their own Net Zero targets.
How we are reducing our emissions
- Fewer, shorter journeys: our multi-skilled engineers service several systems in one visit, all of our engineers are based locally, and work is planned by area.
- Cleaner vehicles: we are moving our fleet to more efficient, low-emission vehicles, with electric options as they become viable.
- Energy at our premises: we monitor and reduce energy use at our Fareham head office.
- Less waste: we work digitally with paperless engineer reports, and recycle equipment, batteries and WEEE responsibly.
- Responsible suppliers: we buy locally where possible and consider environmental performance when choosing suppliers.
Measuring our progress
We are measuring a baseline of our direct (Scope 1) and energy (Scope 2) emissions, and will publish a Carbon Reduction Plan with targets in line with Supplier Net Zero Roadmaps, reporting our progress each year.
Who is responsible
Our commitment is owned at Board level by our Net Zero Champion, Paul Baverstock, Sales Director, supported by our Net Zero Coordinator, Yvette Hicks.
